Were on the lookout for qualified and experienced Field Service Engineers. Our principal consultant Robin Thomas, has an exciting opportunity for the right candidates, to join a UK based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and associated systems, serving customers all around the globe

iPad & Mobile Phone | 1.5x OT rate (Sundays & Bank Holidays 2.0x) | Company vehicle | Home Based

As a Field Service Engineer youll be responsible for preventative maintenance, breakdown, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of a wide range of centrifugal pump systems on customers sites both Regionally & Nationally. You will likely also work with rotating equipment not specifically related to pumping systems.

To be considered for this role you must have mechanical experience, preferably in a pump environment, and be able to service, commission and fault find.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Servicing of Electric & Diesel Driven pumping equipment and systems
  • Servicing, installation, and commissioning of centrifugal pumps
  • Fault-finding on electrical control panels
  • Alignment and installation of rotating machinery
  • Present a professional image and promote brand values when meeting with customers
  • Supervise or direct tradesman/contractors in their tasks
  • Train customers and other engineers on the equipment
  • Operate systems to demonstrate equipment and to analyse malfunctions
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools
  • Consult with company engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance
  • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant qualification to NVQ Level 3/4 (A-level to HNC or equivalent) in mechanical engineering
    or
  • Relevant experience which shall be at least 3 years as a pump field service engineer
  • Valid driving licence and open to considerable travel (expectation of an average of 5-10 nights away from home per month)
  • People skills, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Commercially aware
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Electrical qualification will be considered advantageous
