Job summary

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power protection solutions provider to recruit a Field Service Engineer covering Central England. The role offers a competitive salary up to £45,000, overtime, a company vehicle, private healthcare, pension, and generous holiday entitlement.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will service UPS, switchgear, IPS, and related power equipment, travel roughly one week per month, and deliver site-specific safety documentation and reports.

Qualifications

  • Previous field service experience in UPS, switchgear, IPS, SCADA, or related power/electrical sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Qualified Electrician/Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4 or above).

Responsibilities

  • Start up, maintain, and carry out emergency repairs on batteries and power distribution equipment.
  • Diagnose faults using client drawings and site info.
  • Provide technical recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements.
  • Communicate with service direction team and update status.
  • Complete paperwork and administration accurately.
  • Manage your own schedule and workload while travelling as required.

This strategically important Field Service Engineer role comes with a competitive salary of up £45,000, overtime, company vehicle, private healthcare, pension, and excellent holiday entitlement.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior UPS Field Service Engineer role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will:

  • Start up, maintain, and carry out emergency repairs on Start up, maintain, and carry out emergency repairs on, Batteries, Power distribution equipment, and Site monitoring systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults using clients' technical drawings when necessary
  • Provide technical recommendations to clients and colleagues
  • Produce and follow site-specific risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ensure continuous communication with the service direction team
  • Accurately complete all company and customer paperwork and administration.
  • Work independently and manage your own schedule and workload
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Previous field service experience in UPS, switchgear, IPS, SCADA, or related power/electrical sectors.
  • Qualified Electrician/Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4 or above - HNC, HND, NVQ preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Competence with electrical measuring equipment and tools.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
