HRGO Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service heavy automation equipment across the UK and Ireland, with occasional overseas trips. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of advanced machinery in the Glass/Processing industries.

The position is fully remote with travel to customer sites and a strong emphasis on hands-on engineering across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-skilled engineering experience across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities with good documentation.
• Familiarity with PLC and servo-controlled systems and reading complex diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites in the UK, Ireland and worldwide.
• Provide high-quality technical support to customers to ensure peak equipment performance.
• Document machine information and conditions; suggest improvements.
• Interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams and work from them.
• Collaborate with applications, sales, engineering or production for great service.
• Train customers to operate/repair machines to maximise productivity.
• Act as ambassador with customers during installations and repairs.
• Maintain company equipment, vehicle and tools in good condition.

Field Service Engineer - Industrial Machinery

• Permanent - Fully remote position
• Candidate Location requirement: Ideally based in the Midlands or nearby

Long-established and highly respected international leader in the design and manufacture of specialised automation machinery and solutions for the glass processing industry is looking to recruit an UK based Field Service Engineer to work across the UK with occasional oversea trips.

This is a full-time remote role and the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for

the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of advanced machinery primarily used within the Glass and Processing markets. This hands-on role offers a dynamic work environment, combining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and will require travel to customer sites both locally and internationally.

Duties:

• Install, commission, conduct maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment at customer sites throughout the UK, Ireland and worldwide.
• Provide high-quality technical assistance to customers to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Document customer machine information and technical conditions and make improvement suggestions.
• Interpret and work from electrical wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Work within a cross functional team that includes applications, sales, engineering, or production for excellent customer service.
• Train customers to operate and/or repair machines to ensure maximum productivity.
• Act as an ambassador and work directly with customers during installations and repairs to enable their business success.
• Maintain company provided equipment, vehicle, and tools in good working order.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Proven experience with multi-skilled engineering (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with PLC and servo-controlled systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams
• A proactive "can-do" attitude with a willingness to work independently or as part of a team
• Flexibility to travel regularly, including staying away from home and overseas trips
• HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics preferred)
• Full UK clean driving licence and v alid Passport is essential
