A global manufacturer of scientific instruments is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer in Northern Ireland. This role involves servicing and repairing equipment, particularly in chromatography and spectroscopy. Candidates should have an HND in engineering, experience with scientific instrumentation, and excellent communication skills. Travel up to 80% is required. Full training for laboratory professionals transitioning to this role will be provided.

Job description

Our client is a global manufacturer of specialist scientific instrumentation, helping laboratories around the world enable advancements in many areas such as pharmaceutical, food, environmental and healthcare.

To ensure the efficiency of their operations, they are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Field Service engineer to join their team in Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Servicing, installing and repairing Scientific instrumentation onsite, specialising in the company's Chromatography and Spectroscopy product range (HPLC, GC, FT-IR, UV/Vis, instrumentation)
  • Covering a local territory of Cork with occasional travel further afield in Ireland
  • Diagnosing faults on complex scientific equipment ensuring prompt, flexible and customer focused support
  • Managing equipment parts and spare parts
Requirements:
  • HND in engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience servicing complex scientific instrumentation (Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Automation, etc) from a range of instrument vendors
  • Knowledge of GMP
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel up to 80% of your time
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
