Job description

Field Service Engineer required. Our client has over 20 years of experience in the plant and tool hire industry. They are rapidly growing with over 130 branches around the country. They are now looking for a Field Service Engineer due to the growth of the business. This position covers from Portsmouth to Exeter and then up to Oxford and Redditch.

Successful candidates will manage the standards of their regional hire fleet through routine preventative and remedial maintenance of all hire plant, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure maximum life is achieved from our hire fleet through continuous improvement in maintenance standards
  • Prevent excessive repair cost through routine plant maintenance
  • Provide technical back up and support to our branches
  • Provide technical and maintenance training for staff
  • Liaise with branches to supply spare parts for equipment and make use of recovered parts to reduce costs
  • Provide technical support to staff
Minimum Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in a "mechanical" role, ideally with Plant or heavy machinery such as Telehandlers, Diggers, Excavators etc.
  • Full driving licence
  • The ability to use your initiative
  • The ability to work alone
  • Industry knowledge or previous hire related experience desirable
Working Conditions:
  • Working hours: 44.5 hours per week (flexible)
