Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and install Battery Chargers across the UK. The candidate will organise service visits, install equipment, and provide technical support. Benefits include profit share, overtime, and full training. Job description

Our client supplies, installs and services a range of industrial Battery Chargers, and related products, for industrial Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a nationwide team responsible for servicing Battery Chargers and their related Battery Packs at commercial/industrial locations.

Responsibilities
  • Organise and complete service visits according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Position, install and commission equipment at customer sites.
  • Repair equipment.
  • Advise Head Office of any sales opportunities identified during the course of duties.
  • Promote the company and act in a professional and diplomatic manner at all times.
  • Adhere to quality standards at all times.
  • Survey new and existing sites for installation purposes.
  • Feedback quality issues to the office.
  • Provide Technical Support to colleagues and customers as required.
Requirements

The following experience and qualifications would be beneficial, although training will be given:

  • Electrical/Electronic fault finding.
  • Electromechanical Installation (e.g. BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regs).
  • Understanding of SLA, NiCD and Plante batteries.
  • Experience working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), UKPN, National Grid or London Underground.
  • Experience with Battery chargers, UPS, Backup power systems/supply, emergency lighting.
  • Substations access experience (e.g. UKPN, National Grid, Western Power, Southern Power, Scottish power, Electrical Authorised person and CSCS).
  • UK Driving License and eligibility to work in UK are essential.
