Role: Field Service & Commissioning Engineer

About the Role:
As a Field Service & Commissioning Engineer you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality installation, maintenance and support services for production machinery. Working across global customer sites and at the headquarters in Bedfordshire, you’ll be at the forefront of cutting-edge engineering solutions in this niched area of the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a hands-on, international role. You’ll be responsible for commissioning complex systems, providing technical support, and building lasting client relationships. With product training provided at our UK site and opportunities to travel worldwide, this role combines technical challenge with global exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
– Build and commission machinery
– Carry out factory acceptance tests with customers
– Install and commission systems on-site, including operator training
– Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers
– Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
– Connect remotely to systems for fault diagnostics and software support
– Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
– Maintain an organised and safe work environment
– Work efficiently and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
Requirements:
– Solid experience in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
– Knowledge of PLC control systems and drive systems (preferred)
– Skilled in reading technical drawings and circuit diagrams
– Proficient with PC-based software (Word, Excel, Project)
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel extensively
– Experience working with bespoke machinery (desirable)
– Travel worldwide, working on innovative and bespoke engineering systems
– Work in a collaborative and supportive team environment
– Receive comprehensive product training and ongoing development
