Summary

As a Field Sales Leader for Breast Cancer at Novartis, you will lead, motivate, and coach a team of sales representatives (KAMs) to achieve performance objectives and deliver growth aligned with our strategic goals. You will be responsible for driving sales performance, building relationships with key healthcare professionals, and ensuring the effective execution of sales and marketing strategies. Your leadership will foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and innovation, making a tangible impact on patient outcomes.

About the Role

Location: This is a field-based role requiring significant travel within the territory, covering from Southampton to East Anglia, including London. Candidates should reside within the territory. Unfortunately, we cannot offer relocation or visa support for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, develop, motivate, and coach a team of key account managers to achieve and exceed performance targets for the South Dermatology team.
  2. Execute the strategic plan across your assigned region and therapeutic area.
  3. Continuously improve team selling skills and product knowledge.
  4. Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback and development opportunities.
  5. Develop and retain talent.
  6. Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and stakeholders across the NHS.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, medical, and value & access to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  8. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities in line with the strategic plan.
  9. Implement incentive programs to motivate and stimulate the field force to achieve business objectives.
  10. Manage the team's budget and expenses.
  11. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies, promoting ethical sales practices.
  12. Report on sales metrics, team performance KPIs, and market insights to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Proven success in pharmaceutical sales and in driving sales performance and targets achievement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in performance coaching.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends for informed decision-making.
  • High emotional intelligence with empathetic and ethical leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulations and compliance.
  • NHS & UK experience is essential; Oncology knowledge is desirable.
