A leading company in electro-mechanical components is seeking a motivated Field Sales Engineer for Southern and Western England and Wales. Territory: Southern and Western England (South & West of Staffordshire, incl.) & Wales

We are seeking a motivated Field Sales Engineer to join our team, covering all English counties south and west of Staffordshire (inclusive), as well as Wales. The candidate must be based within this territory—ideally near the M4 or M5 corridors—for efficient access to customer sites.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for achieving sales targets within your designated territory by developing and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting our range of electro-mechanical components through a consultative technical sales approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand relationships with both new and existing customers to drive business growth.
  • Understand customer requirements and industry trends to identify opportunities and tailor solutions.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives within the assigned region.
  • Provide insight into market activity, customer needs, and competitor strategies.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations that effectively communicate product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and use it as a key business tool.
  • Retain and grow key accounts through consistent engagement and service excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Regularly produce and present internal reports highlighting wins, challenges, and market insights.
  • Attend Area Performance Reviews and follow through on the resulting strategy and actions.
  • Spend a minimum of one day per month at Head Office for updates, collaboration, and training.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven ability to work independently while maintaining a strong sense of team collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience in technical sales, ideally in a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components is essential.
  • Qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential (car allowance provided in lieu of company car).
