Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (Field based) in Swindon to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown company, serving over 15 million members. Competitive salary, overtime, and bonus opportunities.

Role entails 40 hours per week 6am–12pm, with flex overtime and optional fixed overtime; shifts start from home once you’re in the van. Requires UK driving licence and Level 2/3 qualification.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or Level 3 qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out roadside mechanical and electrical repairs including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and advise on next steps.
• Provide temporary solutions to keep members mobile and safe.
• Work safely in varied environments and conditions.
