Field Quality Supervisor job (Harvest Rigs) - Cambridgeshire

A*******Farms Limited is the UK's finest grower and packer of leeks. We farm over 2,500 acres of land, producing leeks, onions, wheat, sugar beet and maize. Our leeks are processed in our own onsite packhouse and appear on supermarket shelves across the UK.

The Role

The Field Quality Supervisor is responsible for all daily field specific operations including the supervision of rig harvest operators, rig production and finished product movement. As well as production KPIs to meet, the jobholder will also have responsibility for food safety, legality, authenticity and quality. This is a hands-on role, and candidates must have experience with driving tractors and working with rig equipment.

Key tasks include:

1. To manage agency labour on the rig. Supervise, motivate and communicate clearly and effectively with the team, ensuring appropriate training is given and performance targets are met.
2. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring that all goods are produced in accordance with customer requirements, Company policies and legislation.
3. To maintain product quality standards in line with current specifications, and manage any non-conformances with the rig team.
4. The jobholder is responsible for all administration relating to the rig harvest operation.
5. Responsibility for the startup and close down of machinery and the reporting of any maintenance issues.
6. Responsibility for the safe transportation of produce from the field to onward haulage.

Candidates must have:

1. Experience operating rig harvest machinery.
2. Experience driving a tractor.
3. Counterbalance FLT licence.
4. Experience of supervising others.
5. Full UK driving licence.
