In 2024, we became part of Hometree Group, a leading UK residential home energy services company, paving the way for a brighter future in the home. By joining Hometree’s mission to help millions of homeowners look after their homes and transition to lower-carbon living, in addition to installation we now also provide comprehensive servicing, financing and maintenance to make it easier to look after your home and ensure a greener future.

Join us during this exciting time, and play a pivotal role in a business that supports sustainable homeownership.

The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and results-driven Field Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of renewable energy projects. From residential installations to large-scale commercial developments and ongoing maintenance services, you’ll play a key role in ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be traveling to project sites regularly, overseeing works on the ground, and ensuring everything is progressing safely, on time, and to the highest standards. As a trained electrician, you’ll bring both technical know-how and leadership to the table, helping to solve problems on-site and guide teams effectively.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll work closely with our Head of Operations, fellow Project Managers, and installation teams. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a team environment but also takes initiative, drives success, and is always looking to grow their skillset. If you have a ‘get stuck in’ attitude and love seeing projects come to life, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for field operations while ensuring milestones and deadlines are met within scope, time, and budget constraints; coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Site Management & Supervision: Oversee daily field operations to ensure work meets quality and safety standards, conduct site inspections for compliance, and address any on-site issues or delays efficiently.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, company policies, and legal requirements; conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and incident investigations as needed.
  • Resource & Workforce Management: Manage on-site workforce, including contractors and company staff, ensuring efficient use of materials, equipment, and other resources while optimising productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for field-related inquiries, provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients, and address client concerns to meet their expectations.
  • Quality Assurance & Problem-Solving: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and specifications, identify potential risks with contingency planning, and proactively troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.

What we’re looking for:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Solar PV, battery storage, and EV systems.
  • Certifications: Qualified Electrician, 18th Edition, Level 3 (IOSH, City & Guilds, NVQ).
  • Project Management: Minimum of 3+ years of experience managing renewable energy projects.
  • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and ensure smooth execution.
  • Outstanding Communication: Confidence in leading teams, coordinating with clients, and maintaining clear and effective communication at all levels.
  • Leadership & Team Motivation: Ability to inspire and guide installation teams and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results.
  • Detail-Oriented & Strategic Thinker: Proactively manage risks, anticipate potential issues, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Thrive in dynamic environments, take a hands-on approach, and continuously seek process improvements.
  • Risk & Compliance: Experience with risk management, industry regulations, and health & safety compliance.
  • Supplier & Contract Management: Ability to manage third-party relationships and contracts effectively.

Extra Credit:

  • Renewable Qualifications: BPEC Solar Installer, Battery Storage, and EV certifications.
  • Certifications: Part P Domestic Installer Certification, Gold Card, and Black Card.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: First Aid, plant certification, CSCS, SSSTS, and SMSTS.

Perks of the job

We have an ever expanding list of benefits that currently includes:

  • Performance Rewards: End-of-year bonus based on performance.
  • Company Car: Vehicle provided, including the installation of a home charging point if EV.
  • Hybrid Working: Two mandatory office days, with three days on-site or home—scheduled by you.
  • Technology: Laptop, mobile phone, and any additional equipment needed for your role.
  • Generous Time Off: 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Birthday Benefit: Enjoy an additional day off on your birthday!
  • Secure Your Future: Robust company pension plan for peace of mind in retirement.
