Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Field Process Engineer to support commissioning, optimisation and performance of water and wastewater treatment technologies across customer sites in the UK. The role combines technical process engineering with hands-on site problem-solving to improve treatment performance and asset reliability.

You will travel across the UK to customer sites, with occasional overnight or overseas travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Process, Chemical, Environmental, Water Engineering or related field.
• Experience in water or wastewater industry, especially treatment processes, commissioning or optimisation.
• Strong ability to analyse data and diagnose performance issues.
• Practical, analytical problem-solver who works well on-site with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support across commissioning, troubleshooting, optimisation and after-sales activities.
• Investigate performance issues using site observations, data and sampling results.
• Identify root causes and distinguish equipment faults from process issues.
• Recommend improvements to performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Assist with commissioning plans, performance testing, pilot trials and remedial investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and clearly communicate findings to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support customer training, technical presentations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Share operational insights to inform design and product development.
