Job summary

North East Heating Solutions is seeking a skilled Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our field team. You will install, remove and commission domestic hot water systems within residential properties, and work closely with our electrical team on electric heating installations.

This role involves varied, hands-on work on-site with travel across the North East. We offer ongoing training and a supportive, family-run environment with long-term growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plumber or heating installer.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of domestic hot water and heating systems.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Gas Safe registration is not required.

Responsibilities

• Removal of existing domestic heating and hot water systems (cylinders, tanks and pipework).
• Installation, commissioning and testing of hot water systems.
• Pipework installation and connection to water supply and system controls.
• Fault finding, diagnostics and pressure testing.
• Collaborate with electricians on electric heating installations.
• Ensure work meets current safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide high level of customer service and explain systems to end users.
• Maintain accurate job records, photos and documentation.
• Support warehouse organisation and stock control when required.
