Field Operations Manager (Hardware)

BY Title: Operations Manager; Project Manager

Location: Virtual within the US (CST or MST preferred)

Travel: Frequent domestic and occasional international travel is expected in this role

In the role of Field Operations Manager (Hardware), you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth deployment, implementation, and operationalization of our hardware self-service solutions (returns kiosks) at host service locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, operational proficiency, and a strategic mindset to align our technology solutions with customer goals while driving operational excellence and efficiency.

What You'll Do

Day-to-Day Vendor Management:

  • Manage hardware manufacturing and support partners, including overseeing production timelines to ensure products are built within agreed schedules.
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure timely shipment and delivery of hardware to designated locations.
  • Supervise support partners to ensure site surveys, hardware staging, deployment, and installation are completed on time and meet customer specifications.
  • Handle purchase orders and ensure timely vendor invoice processing.
  • Develop hardware rollout and deployment plans based on production and installation timelines.
  • Manage vendor KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with customizing training materials and managing translation timelines internally.

Customer-Facing Activities:

  • Meet with potential and new customers to understand their logistical and operational requirements.
  • Assess deployment timelines and hardware availability to plan installations accordingly.
  • Oversee hardware pilot installations with third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
  • Configure hardware to ensure proper testing and functionality prior to deployment (training provided).
  • Conduct on-site training for customers on Blue Yonder hardware and software products (training provided).

What We Are Looking For

Required Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

  • 3-5 years of experience in hardware field operations management, preferably in logistics or technology sectors (e.g., kiosks, ATMs, EV chargers).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional, cross-cultural teams and management levels.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams, with flexibility in time management.

Preferred Extras:

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI).
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) tools.
  • Experience with Zebra, TSC, Honeywell, or Samsung handheld devices and printers.
  • Exposure to kiosk or terminal technologies.
  • Experience with collaboration and project management tools such as Smartsheets, Teams, OneDrive.
  • Experience working within a tech organization, collaborating with DevOps, TechOps, and Product teams.

The salary range for this position is: $91,111.54 - $114,888.45 USD.

This range reflects current national data; actual compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, and other factors. The role is eligible for performance bonuses or commissions, depending on the position.
