Job summary

Rivan Industries is seeking an on-site Senior Site Supervisor to oversee daily activities from preparation to commissioning across UK/Europe deployments. You will own site safety, manage contractors, deliveries, and risk assessments, and work with engineers to remove bottlenecks as deployments scale to 50MW, 100MW and beyond.

In-person work between our project sites and London factory, with relocation/travel support and private health insurance.

Qualifications

• Experience running sites or field installations in construction, industrial gases, process plants, utilities, renewables or military environments.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and keep site operations on track while stopping work when needed.
• Experience creating risk assessments and method statements.
• Hands-on mechanical or electrical technical background.
• SMSTS training and P&ID literacy; AutoCAD experience preferred but not required.

Job description

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, whilst vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We build our own sites from first principles. While most developers hand a consented land area to an EPC contractor, we run the entire process ourselves so that every deployment is faster and more cost-effective than the last.

You will oversee all works on site to ensure they're delivered safely, correctly and on time. You will work out how we optimise and accelerate our deployments on site, then you will step up to grow and lead the field teams taking us to 50MW, 100MW, and 1GW scale across the UK and Europe.

The role:

• Run daily site activities through the project lifecycle: preparation, construction, commissioning and operation.
• Own site safety through inductions, daily briefings, permits, risk assessments and method statements, and making sure they're followed. When they're not, you stop the work.
• Manage contractors, deliveries, materials, welfare and security to maximise productivity and minimise project delays.
• Determine when a scope of work is finished and correct. You check it against the drawings as it's built.
• Keep our finished sites running covering maintenance and faults.
• Identify bottlenecks to Rivan's deployments and work with engineers to implement solutions so Rivan can deploy at scale.

Core skills:

• Experience running sites or field installations, ideally in construction, industrial gases, process plant, utilities, renewables or military environments.
• A track record of managing contractors and keeping site operations and work on track, while still knowing when to stop work when required.
• Confident reviewing and creating risk assessments and method statements.
• Calm under pressure and with people. You can find out what's happened, understand the problem and resourcefully work towards a solution.
• A hands-on technical background, mechanical, electrical or similar.
• SMSTS training, P&ID literacy and autocad experience preferable but not required. We will provide training where needed.
