Working as an Electronic Monitoring Field Officer for our Electronic Monitoring Service is more than just a job; it’s the chance to be part of something great, to join a team where your contributions are valued, and where you can positively impact the communities we serve every day. In addition to a rewarding career, we offer:
We operate year-round, and due to the nature of the work, you will work a range of shifts covering days, weekends, and bank holidays. Your contractual workweek averages 37.5 hours, with a rolling rota including weekends. Evening shifts typically range from 5 pm to 1 am, with flexibility required for earlier or later start times. The rota is provided approximately weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your time off.
About the Role: You will visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment, working alone or with a Monitoring Support Officer. You'll build trust, reassure them about their safety, and help reduce pressure on the prison system by supporting their reintegration into the community. Each day presents different opportunities and challenges.
You will receive 3 weeks of training and be accompanied by an experienced Officer or Mentor until comfortable in your role. Due to occupational requirements, we particularly welcome applications from female candidates, in line with the Equality Act 0.
Our current officers come from diverse backgrounds. What matters is your commitment to making a difference. You will learn during the initial 2-week training and through shadowing and mentorship. A valid UK driver’s license, reasonable fitness, and good communication skills are essential for building rapport with individuals.
