Job description
Overview

Working as an Electronic Monitoring Field Officer for our Electronic Monitoring Service is more than just a job, it's the chance to be part of something great, to join a team where your contributions are valued, and where you can positively impact the communities we serve every day. You will head off to visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment and, with every individual you meet, have the opportunity to build their confidence in both you and the justice system, reassuring them of their safety and that of the public. Every day and every individual are different, which is what makes this role varied and full of opportunities.

You will either work alone or alongside a Monitoring Support Officer, and with every successful case you’ll be directly helping reduce the pressure on the prison system and give ex-prisoners the chance to be part of their community again.

We are looking for caregivers who are caring, compassionate, and resilient. If that sounds like you, you could be a Field Officer for Serco, using these key strengths to make a positive difference for people during a difficult time in their lives.

Responsibilities
  • Visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment.
  • Work either independently or with a Monitoring Support Officer.
  • Build confidence in you and the justice system with the individuals you meet, and reassure them of safety for them and the public.
  • Contribute to reducing pressure on the prison system and support ex-prisoners to re-engage with their communities.
  • Engage in varied and opportunity-rich daily tasks.
What you need to do the job
  • Commitment to making a difference to the lives of others.
  • Training: the rest you will learn during a two-week initial training course and through shadowing and mentorship from experienced colleagues.
  • Current valid UK driver’s license.
  • Reasonably fit with good written and verbal communication skills to build relationships and rapport with individuals you meet.
Additional Information
  • All offers of employment are subject to Baseline Personnel Standard Security vetting (which includes right to work/identity checks, a basic criminal record check and verification of the last 3 years of employment or academic activity).
  • Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme.
  • Disability Confident: An employer that offers an interview to applicants who declare a disability and meet the minimum criteria for the job; details may vary in high-volume hiring periods.
Salary and Benefits
  • Base Salary: £26,031 per annum.
  • Company Car (includes personal use).
  • Pension (matched up to 6%), life insurance; 20 days annual leave (rising to 25 after 7 years’ service) plus Bank Holidays.
  • Continuous training and development opportunities.
  • Wellbeing benefits such as Employee Assistance Programme, MIND, Simply Health Care and Dental Plans, and more.
  • Discounts and exclusive deals on Merlin Attractions, mobile phone plans, cinema, leisure, retail and hospitality, and more.
  • A supportive team and culture focused on diversity and inclusion.

We are operational year-round, and due to the nature of the work you will work a range of shifts covering daytimes, weekends, and bank holidays.
