Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking skilled Multi Traders to join our Direct Services team, delivering high-quality repairs across our homes in the Portsmouth area. You will perform multi-trade tasks, manage your workload, and ensure residents are informed throughout the process.

You will cover a patch including Portsmouth and surrounding areas, with eligibility for 24-hour emergency calls and DBS checks as part of pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a Direct Labour Service repairs environment with customer satisfaction focus.
• Relevant trade qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3) or equivalent across multiple trades.
• Experience delivering a range of repairs across different trades.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and building regulations.
• Ability to diagnose faults and deliver a first time fix wherever possible.
• Excellent communication with residents, including those who may be vulnerable.
• Flexible, proactive approach and strong team mindset.
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends; 24-hour emergency rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of repairs across residents' homes.
• Perform multi-trade tasks: basic plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, and general maintenance.
• Manage workload daily to meet service targets and first-time-right repair targets.
• Keep residents informed throughout the repair process and ensure satisfaction.
• Participate in a 24-hour emergency call-out rota as required.
