Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a capable manager to lead vegetation management operations on the SPENW contract, based in the Northwest of England and operating from Hermitage. The role focuses on delivering work safely, on time and within budget while meeting client expectations.

You will oversee compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations, manage a team and liaise with back-office support to maintain contracts and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working in utilities.
• LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector certification.
• Strong verbal communication and people management skills.
• Good computer skills including email, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver work safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations.
• Maximise contract profitability while meeting contractual requirements.
• Oversee compliance with client authorisation, specifications, standards and quality systems.
• Control documentation with back‑office support.
• Lead pre‑vetting, consenting and planning on site within outage windows.
• Assess health & safety competence of subcontractors and direct labour.
• Manage and motivate a team, delegating while leading by example.
• Act as a brand ambassador and be professional.
• Deliver monthly team briefings and facilitate two‑way feedback.

Job description

The role will be based in the Northwest of England as part of the SPENW vegetation management contract.

Department: ENW

Location: Hermitage

Compensation: £34,000 - £41,000 / year

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver work safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations
• Ensure all work within your control complies with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations
• Maximise contract profitability while meeting contractual requirements
• Oversee compliance with client authorisation requirements, specifications, company standards of service and quality systems
• Control documentation in close collaboration with the back‑office support team
• Lead pre‑vetting, consenting and planning on site to stay within outage windows with correct resources
• Assess health & safety competence of sub‑contractors and direct labour before work begins
• Manage and motivate a team, delegating appropriately but leading by example
• Act as a brand ambassador, professional and forward facing
• Deliver monthly team briefings and facilitate two‑way feedback

Experience and Qualifications

• Utility Arm units UA1, 2.1 UA5
• LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector
• Good verbal communication skills

• Financial and commercial awareness
