Overview

Field Maintenance Engineer (Weighing Technician) – Remote (Scotland) – Monday – Friday (1 in every 6 Saturday shifts) – Company Car, phone and laptop provided (door to door, accommodation provided when required with per diem and expenses) – Overtime available.

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be working in partnership with an industry leading in Industrial Weighing Solutions and are looking for a Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This role will involve travelling throughout Scotland, installing, repairing and servicing industrial weighing systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out installations and repairs of weighing systems and associated control equipment.
  • Calibrate, service, and maintain weighing systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechatronic components.
  • Integrate weighing equipment with broader process control and automation systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Provide technical support to customers both on-site and remotely.
  • Prepare service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Travel to customer sites, including extended periods working away from home when required.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree or trade qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering/Technology.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, PLCs, and system integration.
  • Hands-on skills in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing technical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical, customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively and work away from home.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform manual lifting as part of installations and servicing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • If you have the following experience, this would be an added advantage:
    • Experience with industrial weighing systems, load cells, and calibration.
    • Familiarity with automation, sensors, and control systems.
    • Background in industrial servicing or field technician roles.
