Job summary

Re-Ropes, now part of the WH Scott Group, seeks a skilled Lift Roping & Repairs Engineer to join our London-based engineering team. This field-based role involves installation, replacement, tensioning and maintenance of lift ropes across commercial, residential and high-rise buildings, with a focus on safety and quality.

You will work from our Erith office and travel across the South East, liaising with site managers and clients, and supporting our continued commitment to industry standards and

Qualifications

Experience with lift roping and traction lift systems.
Able to work at height and follow safety procedures.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install, shorten, tension, and replace lift ropes.
Carry out rope condition assessments and safety inspections.
Diagnose mechanical issues and repair diverters, sheaves, gearboxes and motors.
Ensure compliance with UK lift regulations and safety standards.
Liaise with site managers, contractors and clients.
Complete service documentation and reports accurately.
Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles.

Skills

Proven experience in lift roping and

Full UK driving licence

Education

NVQ Level 3 in Lift Installation/Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred

Full UK driving licence
