Job description

Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience) plus overtime (paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate) and benefits package

Who you’ll be working for

Our client is the UK’s Largest Garage Equipment Workshop Service & Spares Provider and is part of a European group that is active in multiple industries including manufacturing, distribution, and service within the automotive aftermarket.

Job Purpose

Working for the UK’s largest garage equipment service company, you will be an integral team member; a home-based Field Installation Engineer, installing a wide range of garage equipment. You will be provided with a fully racked van, PDA, and phone to ensure a smooth service is provided.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Carry out installation on a wide range of garage equipment products including vehicle lifts, brake testers, MOT bays, tyre equipment, etc.
  2. Completion and submission of accurate paperwork as required complying with the Quality System Compliance and adherence to laws and regulations covering Health & Safety within the workplace.
  3. Ensuring control of own van stock to meet First Time Fix targets.
  4. Continued development of skills required ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.

Typical Skills & Experience

  1. Good working knowledge and experience of activities in a field service environment.
  2. Experience in working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, preferably garage equipment.
  3. Ability to install equipment working from site specification and scale CAD drawings.
  4. Able to follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards.
  5. Flexible and willing to work overtime.
  6. Confident and able to work under own initiative.
  7. Excellent communication skills – dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  8. Full clean UK driving licence is essential.
