Job summary

Logistics UK in London seeks an experienced HGV Inspection Engineer to join our Vehicle Inspection Team. You will lead audits and maintenance inspections across a wide range of vehicles, advising members on compliance and regulatory changes.

This field-based role involves daily site visits across Essex and East London, with a fully equipped company vehicle and support to deliver practical, cost-effective improvements.

Qualifications

• Fully trained HGV or MHE Engineer with relevant technical qualifications (Heavy Vehicle).
• Vehicle inspection experience (IRTEC) and knowledge of PSV/PCV testing standards.
• Current car licence with workshop experience, or occupational licence (Category C for HGV).
• Strong IT skills and confidence using new systems.
• Highly motivated, independent, well-organised with good communication for field-based work.
• Membership of a professional body is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise work in line with scheduling system and policies, including proactive member contact.
• Carry out inspections and audits safely to high standards, meeting productivity/time targets.
• Complete reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain electronic systems and ensure data security.
• Engage with members to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Attend training/meetings and support Regional Operations Manager with additional duties.
