Job summary

BDi Advance Fire & Security Ltd is seeking a Fire & Security Engineer for a field-based role across commercial client sites in the Cambridgeshire area. You will install, commission, maintain and service fire detection and alarm systems, CCTV, access control and intercom solutions, with on-call responsibilities after training and competency checks.

The role requires strong fault-finding and practical engineering skills, a good grasp of IP networking, and the ability to read drawings and technical

Qualifications

• Experience in the fire and/or electronic security industry.
• Ability to service and maintain electronic systems.
• Read and interpret drawings, specs and technical docs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent customer communication and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission fire and security systems per designs and standards.
• Install CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and intercom systems.
• Carry out cabling, terminations and equipment installation.
• Program and configure control equipment, devices, networks and software.
• Perform planned maintenance, inspections and functional testing.
• Attend reactive service calls and diagnose faults across hardware and software.
• Provide technical information for quotations and system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate job records using electronic management systems.
• Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
