L3Harris is seeking an experienced Field Engineer, RC-135 Aircraft/Airframe Systems to join our team at RAF Waddington, Lincoln, United Kingdom. In this role, you will provide advanced airframe/structural maintenance and sustainment for the Royal Air Force’s RC-135 aircraft.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Perform RC-135 airframe systems and structural maintenance
  • Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections, aircraft launch, and recovery
  • Operate and maintain airframe, sheet metal, hydraulics, fuel, engine, environmental, flight controls, and associated systems
  • Oversee maintenance activities and ensure accurate documentation completion
What you’ll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Ability to obtain UK DV Clearance (or equivalent) within the first year
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, OR, Graduate Degree and minimum of 0 years of relevant experience, OR, 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Degree
  • Qualified to sustain the RC/KC-135 airframe and subsystems within the last 5 years
  • Work various shifts depending upon customer mission requirements
  • Worldwide deployable with travel up to 40% of the time
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time and climb ladders daily
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with C-135 hydraulic, fuel systems/in-flight refueling, bleed air, engines, oxygen, and flight control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and engineering documents
  • Corrosion control identification, repair, and prevention experience
  • Possess United Kingdom Aircraft Maintenance license or equivalent
