Job summary

Helsing is a defence AI company working to mature cutting-edge military AI products from proof of concept to large-scale rollout. As a Field Engineer, you will test combined software and hardware in labs and in the field, including drones, and help assure safety and reliability across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with software, AI engineers, product managers and end users, travelling to testing locations in the UK and beyond, to design, execute, and document tests and safety cases

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude; understands complex hardware and software at a systems level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain concepts clearly.
• Natural problem solver; can own critical work streams.
• Passionate about protecting liberal democratic values in defence sector.

Responsibilities

• Test software and hardware end-to-end in lab and field, including drones.
• Pack, transport, set up equipment at test locations.
• Install AI software on edge devices using in-house tools.
• Design and improve test plans and safety SOPs.
• Define resources and procurement for field testing, including securing storage and aviation submissions.
• Travel to UK, France, Germany and beyond for testing.
• Advise on training course design and in-service support.
