Job Description

Job Title: Field Engineer

Location: London and surrounding areas

Package: Salary up to £40,000 + package + Van

Shift: 4 on 4 off nights

Job Purpose:

To professionally install and service third-party electronic equipment in 12V and 24V vehicles, trailers, and assets, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Equipment includes:

  • Vehicle Tracking & Telematics (CANbus / Driver Behaviour)
  • Dashcams
  • Digital Video Recorders (DVRs)
  • In-Cab Terminals
  • Remote Tachograph Download Devices
  • Trailer Tracking Systems

Responsibilities:

  • Install and service electronic equipment to company and customer standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with client specifications and installation documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, end users, and internal teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in vehicle electrical systems and installed hardware.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work carried out.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, both company and client-issued.
  • Exhibit professional conduct, punctuality, and accountability on all assignments.
  • Travel to client locations with flexibility for regional work.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Field or Automotive Installations Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of 12V & 24V vehicle electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle CANbus systems (JBUS & VBUS).
  • Full, clean driving license (UK or equivalent).
  • Confident communicator with excellent customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and wiring diagrams.
  • Capable of working independently with strong time management.
  • Committed to quality, safety, and continuous professional standards.
