About the Role
At M Group Telecom, we are enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a leading role in delivering our tech-enabled future. We provide full network cycle services for fixed, private, and mobile operators, including managing assets, system refreshes, and 24/7 network operations to ensure smooth functioning.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of fibre and networking principles to ensure project completion across various customer sites such as substations, power plants, data centres, and control centres.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and company quality standards, including circuit testing, installation, and commissioning of telecoms equipment.
- Conduct site surveys, installations, and audits as scheduled, acting as Principal Contractor and Competent Person on site.
- Escalate incidents as needed, complete training promptly, maintain tools and equipment, and suggest improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
- Full UK driving license for travel to customer sites.
- Eligible for Security Clearance - British nationality with 5 years of continuous UK employment.
- Experience in site surveys, installation, glanding, termination, and testing of various cables and telecom equipment.
- Experience with data/control centres, racking, stacking, patching, and labelling.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in comms rooms at substations/power stations, FOX/Ericsson card installation, fibre patching, fault finding, and maintaining FOX Multiplexer, Eltek power supplies, and optical equipment.
- Knowledge of installation and commissioning of Forced Air Cooling in Optel cubicles.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
