Job summary

Anglian Water's Alpheus subsidiary is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Operations team. This permanent role is 44 hours per week, field-based around Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire with occasional travel to bordering counties. Salary circa £40,000, dependent on skills and experience.

You will perform routine maintenance, respond to calls, assist with route planning, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site, using PPE and following environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical skills and practical abilities are required.
• Desirable electrical knowledge to support on-site tasks.
• Strong technical and operational understanding applicable to field work.
• Excellent communication and professional client-facing manner.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily routine maintenance on treatment facilities and perform cleaning and sampling.
• Execute emergency and planned recovery work, including plant repairs and tank cleaning.
• Ensure adherence to client contract terms and safety requirements.
• Provide clear data and feedback to Head Office via phone, email or photos.
• Assist the supervisor with daily route planning for efficiency.
• Attend safety briefings and wear PPE, reporting defects promptly.

We are looking for a Field Engineer to join our Operations team at Alpheus!

Reporting to the Service Delivery Supervisor, you will be responsible for the successful completion of routine, reactive and remedial work on sites we operate, working in a safe efficient manner at all times.

You will work closely with our Service Delivery Supervisor to identify, develop and implement optimisation opportunities throughout our operational activities, driving down operational costs.

In this role you will participate in our ‘out of hours’ emergency standby rota and weekend work, attending call outs in a timely manner and proactively carrying out repairs to ensure compliance is maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily routine maintenance work on various treatment facilities, including general cleaning, sampling and maintenance tasks
• Carry out emergency and planned recovery work as required, for example, confined space entries, repairs of the plant, cleaning of tanks
• Ensure all client contract terms are fully adhered to
• Provide excellent data and verbal feedback to Head Office via a variety of media (telephone, email, photos)
• Assist the Service Delivery Supervisor in planning daily routes in an efficient manner
• Ensure all Safety issues, method statements, risk assessments and on-site security arrangements are fully adhered to
• Attend and participate in monthly team meetings, suggesting ways to improve processes for the benefit of customers and the business
• Ensure you are in possession of and wear appropriate PPE and safety equipment when required, and report any defects immediately
