Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution seeks Craft Attendants to operate in Taunton and Somerset, handling repair, construction and alteration of assets. The role involves outdoor work away from the depot with a small team, requiring quick, decisive action and physical fitness.

A full driving licence is desirable and electrical experience is an advantage, with full training provided. You'll live within about 30 minutes of the depot and contribute to safe, efficient network operations.

Qualifications

• Health & Safety awareness is essential.
• Ability to work in a physical outdoor environment.
• Full driving licence is desirable for site duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure you understand tasks before commencing work.
• Promote a culture of Health, Safety & Quality at all times.
• Prepare the work site and erect signs/barriers.
• Excavate, lay cable and backfill; set up meters and cut-outs.
• Provide first aid when required and maintain tools/equipment.
• Assess site risks and minimise impact on customers.
