Job Description

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing commissioning activities for utility-scale Battery Storage projects. The candidate will plan commissioning activities, address day-to-day issues, and work closely with project and product engineering teams and suppliers. Travel to project sites will be required to support onsite BESS commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop onsite commissioning plans based on project conditions to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
  • Provide installation training to EPC teams before project commencement. Address customer inquiries regarding product installation and commissioning.
  • Supervise implementation of commissioning activities, managing onsite quality, safety, and progress to ensure orderly project execution.
  • Train local technicians and contractors on system installation, check, energization, parameter setting, testing, troubleshooting, and related activities.
  • Allocate tasks to onsite personnel and contractors based on manpower availability, and assign responsible individuals for each sub-task.
  • Resolve issues encountered during commissioning, seeking support from internal and external resources as needed.
  • Maintain customer relationships onsite, providing timely updates on commissioning progress and fault resolution status.
  • Manage onsite commissioning tools and organize spare parts, replenishing missing items promptly.
  • Maintain onsite documentation and reports, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and commissioning reports.
  • Report and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multinational team under tight deadlines.
  • Train, coach, and mentor new commissioning team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
