Overview
As a Field Clinical Specialist, you are a critical part of the Transcatheter Heart Valves (TAVI) field based team that works closely with heart centres, physicians and hospital staff to provide clinical support for Edwards's TAVI procedures. As the clinical expert within cardiology, you have deep product knowledge and a clear understanding of heart pathophysiology and aortic stenosis patients. This is a pivotal and patient-focused role, where you will be the face of Edwards to physicians, and work in close partnership with an account manager to service customers, provide expertise and drive business.
This role will be covering hospitals across Leeds, Sheffield, Hull, Middlesbrough (regular travelling required). You will work in a team alongside an account manager and another clinical specialist, ensuring excellent customer support for this territory.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support for Edwards TAVI procedures and support the heart centre teams during procedures.
- Act as the clinical expert within cardiology with deep product knowledge, understanding of heart pathophysiology and aortic stenosis to guide physicians and staff.
- Represent Edwards with physicians, collaborate with an account manager to service customers, share expertise and drive business in the territory.
- Operate across hospitals in the Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Middlesbrough area with regular travel.
- Collaborate with the territory manager and another clinical specialist to ensure high-quality customer support.
Competencies and Capabilities
- Edwards\'s product & portfolio knowledge: detailed understanding of Edwards products and services; act as a thought leader for physicians regarding products, procedures and disease; be a trusted partner for technical and clinical product guidance; drive territory performance and therapy awareness.
- Disease & therapy knowledge: expertise in aortic stenosis; knowledge of disease and patient condition; trusted resource for implanters and customers on device utilization.
- Clinical data expertise: apply understanding of clinical research to link data with outcomes in real patients; interpret clinical data related to treatment options for specific patients.
- Cath Lab management: provide procedural support, prepare the device, be familiar with Theatre/Cath Lab processes and surgical unit team; demonstrate leadership and effective communication in stressful procedures.
- Imaging expertise: read and interpret imaging data (CT, echocardiography, etc.); support decisions on valve choice and size based on imaging; discuss treatment decisions with implanters.
- Business Acumen: communicate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders; understand competitor products and capabilities; partner with the territory manager; use financial and business metrics; share information to drive business.
- Customer Leadership: establish customer and proctor relationships; supervise patient journey and flow optimization; provide education and certification responsibility for heart centres, physicians and staff; deliver technical and scientific trainings on Edwards products and cardiovascular topics.
- Teamwork and Leadership: work independently yet as part of the territory team; foster sharing of best practices; coach and support others in designing solutions to improve processes and implementation plans.
What we are looking for
- An effective candidate must have hands-on skills with proven ability to apply technical knowledge and judgment to complex anatomical implant procedures.
- Technical proficiency specific to echocardiography and interventional cardiology is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external physician partners.

- Confident using modern communication tools, MS Office, and willing to learn other software as needed.
- Strong aptitude for cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Experience working in a cardiac cath lab and/or a surgical environment.
- Up to 80% travel; driving license required.
