Field-Based Mechanical Engineer – Print & Packaging Machinery

Circa £20 per hour / £39,000 salary paid overtime company van benefits (time & a half weekdays/Saturdays, double time Sundays)

We’re representing a leading UK manufacturer and service partner for specialist print and packaging production equipment. With decades of heritage in designing, building, installing, and supporting industrial-scale machinery, they’re recognised as a go-to partner for high-spec production lines across the sector.

They’re now seeking an experienced Field-Based Mechanical Engineer to join their close-knit, expert service team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Travelling to customer sites to install, decommission, service, and relocate large-scale print and packaging production machinery.
    • Conducting mechanical fault finding, repairs, and adjustments on complex production equipment.
    • Working closely with electrical and controls specialists to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
    • Providing outstanding service while representing a respected British engineering business.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience with industrial-scale print/packaging machinery – installation, commissioning, decommissioning, relocations.
Strong mechanical background with relevant qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance
  • Solid understanding of mechanical assemblies, alignments, and schematics.
    Ability to work safely and effectively on complex machinery.
    Flexibility to travel across the UK and further afield when required (overnight stays as needed).
