Position Overview

The HSE Manager actively analyzes the work environment, culture, and policies to improve Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance, focusing approximately 75% on HSE and 25% on Environmental. Responsibilities include workplace inspections, compliance program design and training, and audits to prevent injury, disease, and environmental impacts.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor HSE risks and controls, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and support compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and standards.
  • Develop and maintain HSE procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations and handle HSE training programs.
  • Conduct daily field audits and participate in risk assessments.
  • Provide quarterly HSE reports on training and compliance status.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years’ experience in chemical plant/refinery sector.
  • 4+ years’ experience in multiple HSE areas preferred.
  • Familiarity with UK/European HSE regulations and standards.
  • Experience with incident investigation, emergency response, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office; SAP is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry.
