Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a highly experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join a field-based facilities management team for a major UK retail client. The role covers Devon and Cornwall, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing repairs, and delivering safe, high-standard service across client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or multi-skilled maintenance role.
• Experience across multiple building fabric trades.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to assess repair requirements and estimate works accurately.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Strong customer service skills and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across building fabric disciplines.
• Diagnose and assess repair requirements at customer sites.
• Complete maintenance and repair works to agreed standards and SLAs.
• Support the preparation of quotations and estimates for repair works.
• Document work with photographs, materials used and detailed service reports.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.
• Follow customer site procedures and facilities management processes.
• Identify potential issues and recommend repair solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and site contacts.
• Deliver a professional, reliable and customer-focused service.
