About the Role

The Field Auditing Quality Manager is responsible for leading and governing the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of field-based audit activities across building services, Mechanical & Electrical Services within FM and H&S compliance. The Field Auditing and Quality Manager manages the KBR Compliance & Technical Auditing programme. The post holder works with Auditors, data specialists and schedulers to carry out a rolling program of Field Audits across a large and varied estate to agreed quality and throughput measures. Covering buildings and sites across England and Wales. The role is focused on managing QA processes and outcomes and has line management responsibility for all field auditing staff. The Field Auditing and Quality Manager is responsible for managing the overall programme and ensuring that quality and standard of delivery is consistent with client requirements, the programme objectives, and the team’s delivery meets relevant deadlines and KPIs. The KBR team will comprise regionally based field auditors. In addition to the primary Auditing responsibility, the post holder may be required to manage specialist programmes from time to time using in house resource and/or external suppliers for delivery. The post holder will be responsible for collaboration with the Audit team, with the scheduling team and with other KBR departments such as Business Intelligence / data reporting. This role will require spending significant time in the field to observe and provide visible management support to the field-based teams. The role ensures audit outputs meet statutory, mandatory, and contractual requirements, are evidence-based and deliver measurable assurance and value to stakeholders. Responsible for defining audit methodologies, conducting quality reviews, and driving continuous improvement across audit delivery and reporting standards.

Role Responsibilities
  • Audit Delivery & Performance Management
    • Line manages field audit teams.
    • Define and maintain audit frameworks, standards and methodologies.
    • Conduct structured QA reviews of compliance & technical audit reports and outputs.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory, mandatory and contractual requirements.
    • Manage and oversee NCR processes and close out effectiveness.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Provide assurance reporting and compliance insight to stakeholders.
    • Support client engagement with data driven recommendations.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and compliance outcomes.
    • Regular meetings with client / stakeholders.
  • Technical & Compliance Expertise
    • Act as SME for all building services compliance / technical audits (M&E, FM, H&S).
    • Follow and assess Health & Safety competency through documented processes.
    • Validate auditor assessments and interpretations of legislation.
    • Provide technical assistance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Possess strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify key issues.
    • Produce clear, accurate and professional technical reports.
    • Educated/experienced at an operational level in a technical discipline relevant to Facilities Management (FM) QA of audit services.
    • Broad FM management experience sufficient to assess services outside of specialist discipline.
    • Provide audit support services to field-based condition surveyors and associated teams.
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities
    • Responsible for own Health & Safety and that of colleagues.
    • Promote and ensure safe systems of work and compliance with H&S standards.
  • QA Development & Continuous Improvement
    • Manage the continuous development of the field-based audit team processes.
    • Monitor KPIs, SLAs and audit quality metrics.
    • Analyse compliance trends, recurring failures and performance gaps.
    • Develop reporting dashboards and data insight outputs (Power BI).
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across audit delivery.
    • Review and report own requirements for ad hoc training as required.
    • Develop and promote a clear understanding of company activities and requirements to deliver a knowledgeable, best-in-class service.
  • Professional Standards & Company Representation
    • Ensure consistent, professional and high-quality audit outputs.
    • Maintain strong reporting standards and data integrity.

    • Maintain intermediate IT skills in relevant CAFM system, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and POWER BI) to support reporting and communication.
Experience Required
  • Audit Implementation & Delivery
    • Delivery and assurance of FM and H&S audit programmes.
    • Line manages all field-based auditors.
    • Quality assurance / total management of audit outputs and reporting.
    • Compliance auditing against statutory and contractual standards.
    • Identification of risk, inefficiencies and improvement actions.
    • Implementation and execution of structured QA audit procedures across FM and H&S disciplines.
    • Delivery of all audit functions across operational environments.
    • Conducting compliance and performance audits against contractual and statutory requirements.
    • Reviewing service delivery against defined standards and SLAs.
    • Identifying best value and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Audit Reporting & Quality Control
    • Structured review of audit reports and findings.
    • NCR management and corrective action tracking.
    • Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all outputs.
    • Producing clear, structured audit reports within defined deadlines.
    • Raising and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
    • Providing timely QA audit findings and recommendations.
    • Documenting compliance gaps and improvement actions.
    • Supporting corrective and preventive action tracking.
  • Compliance & Technical Assessment
    • Strong understanding of building compliance and relevant legislation.
    • Knowledge of contract requirements and service specifications.
    • Reviewing work standards and operational procedures.
    • Assessing adherence to client policies and internal controls.
  • Quality Assurance Development of QA frameworks and audit standards.
  • Professional & Operational Capability
    • Minimum five years’ management experience within FM (Audit Services) M&E and Building fabric and H&S operational disciplines.
    • Managing all aspects of field-based auditing services.
    • Proven ability to provide comprehensive technical guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Effective time and workload management under tight deadlines.
    • Experience working independently and as part of a technical /compliance audit team.
    • Delivery of technical assistance and audit support across multiple service areas.
    • Strong analytical, organisational and reporting capability.
Essential Technical Skills & Qualifications

Broad FM management related experience within QA of auditing compliance & technical audits. H&S competency. Qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Services, C&G, HND. Technical Report writing skills. Full Understanding of building compliance & legislation (Statutory & mandatory) related to all building, Mechanical & electrical services. Recognised qualification within QA assessment procedures – relevant to Building / Mechanical Services. Intermediate IT skills in relevant CAFM systems MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook, PowerPoint and POWER BI. Full UK Driving Licence. Hold or ability to pass SC security clearance. Educated to degree level, preferably within a relevant H&S technical discipline. Qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Services, C&G, HND, Building Engineering. Associated professional membership in an appropriate discipline. Recognised qualification within QA assessment procedures. ISO 9001 internal auditing. ISO 14001 environmental auditing. ISO19011 achievement in auditing. ISO45001 achievement in auditing. Experience of auditing FM related services.
