Job description

This role supports Pillar’s commercialization efforts by providing professional field application support and customer service in the EU, AMEA, and LATAM regions. Our Field Application Scientist (FAS) team members support customer needs by delivering technical training (on-site or remote), providing technical support by addressing customer-driven inquiries, and supporting the regional sales team throughout the entire customer engagement process. The FAS team also provides customer feedback to internal stakeholders, including Sales and Marketing, R&D, RA/QA, Manufacturing, and Operations.

This is a remote, field-based position reporting directly to the Head of EMEA and requires travel to clients throughout the EU, AMEA, and LATAM.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Pre- and post-sale technical support and training
  2. Deliver scientific presentations showcasing Pillar Biosciences' NGS solutions
  3. Provide expert understanding and strong technical competency in discussing Pillar Biosciences' product offerings
  4. Conduct in-lab (and remote) wet bench product trainings and evaluations for new and existing customers
  5. Cultivate relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers
  6. Identify, nurture, and manage KOL collaborations working with the sales team
  7. Respond to incoming customer service requests for support or sales inquiries
  8. Handle customer complaints according to Pillar policy, including documentation, escalation, monitoring investigations, and providing timely updates and resolutions
  9. Accurately record all required documents related to customer interactions
  10. Provide customer feedback to internal stakeholders in the customer experience
  11. Support the Sales team in technical discussions, presentations, and meetings with customers
  12. Record all customer interactions in the CRM, including feedback and complaints
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward customers at all times
Qualifications
  1. Advanced degree in life sciences or equivalent, with 5+ years’ experience working in NGS or clinical testing laboratories
  2. Multilingual skills preferred, with a strong foundation in English and proficiency in French, Spanish, or Italian
  3. Solid understanding of genomics principles, DNA/RNA sequencing, targeted panels, and bioinformatics
  4. Expertise in NGS, library preparation, qPCR, molecular biology, DNA and RNA applications; MDx experience in a clinical setting
  5. At least 3 years of clinical laboratory experience with PCR and/or NGS, knowledge of bioinformatics, data analysis, and clinical research workflows
  6. Dedication to customer satisfaction
  7. Excellent interpersonal, listening, and organizational skills
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  9. Positive, empathetic, and professional attitude
  10. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, multitask, and focus on customer needs
  11. Proven success in managing complex tasks with minimal oversight
  12. Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  13. CRM management experience; SAP or similar systems is a plus
  14. Ability to work with all organizational levels
  15. Willingness to learn technical and commercial aspects of Pillar’s offerings
  16. Flexibility in work schedule and departmental needs
  17. Ability to travel 50%
