Job Title: Fibre Quality & Delivery Specialist – Fibre Services

Location: Field Based – Highlands area of Scotland

Role Purpose:

First Point Group are recruiting a Fibre Quality & Delivery Specialist to ensure the effective, safe, and compliant delivery of fibre infrastructure projects across the Highlands of Scotland. This role is critical in assuring quality, driving performance improvement, supporting technical delivery, and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained by our supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-progress and post-completion quality inspections to verify compliance with specifications, project scope, budget, and legislative standards.
  • Provide feedback and drive corrective actions to address non-conformances identified during audits.
  • Support client and supplier teams in planning and delivering fibre infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate client brief assessments and improved right-first-time delivery.
  • Report on Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) compliance, including immediate risk mitigation and engagement with regional H&S leads.
  • Engage with suppliers and delivery managers to review traffic management and civil engineering elements, advising on technical solutions and build feasibility.
  • Assist in the approval of As-Built documentation through post-flight audits and support in restoring service disruptions quickly while maintaining quality compliance.
  • Conduct direct technical work on the client fibre network when required (ODF audits, OTDR testing, cable tracing, joint surveys, etc.).
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and upskilling of delivery teams on fibre technology, installation standards, and new innovations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform a set number of quality inspections monthly, analyzing and reporting on findings.
  • Sign off on completion milestones for assigned projects.
  • Support introduction and assessment of network innovations, assisting in their rollout and training delivery.
  • Manage technical issue resolution, root cause analysis, and rectification follow-ups.
  • Deliver technical works and documentation in line with agreed Service Level Agreements.

Core Competencies & Experience Required:

  • Extensive technical expertise in fibre telecoms installations (civil, cable laying, splicing, and testing).
  • Deep understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and associated codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience with health, safety, and environmental monitoring and enforcement.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role, managing schedules and travel requirements.

Qualifications:

  • NRSWA Supervisor and Operative Units (essential)
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety accreditation
  • CSCS Card or equivalent (desirable)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Proficient with standard PC tools and reporting platforms
