Job summary

Comex 2000 is seeking an experienced Fibre Optic Engineer to join our UK team. You will be hands-on with fibre construction, activation, and maintenance across new-build and live networks, ensuring high standards of performance and safety.

You will splice, test, commission, and fault-diagnose using OTDR, ILM, and related equipment, while maintaining accurate documentation and liaising with clients to provide clear updates.

Qualifications

• Strong fibre splicing, testing, and diagnostics skills.
• Confident using OTDR and power meter equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fibre cables (2-432 core SM).
• Fuse splice with Fujikura or similar equipment.
• Build/install ODFs, joints, cabinets, and enclosures.
• Carry out live network splicing and repairs.
• Maintain documentation including splice schedules and test results.
