Job summary

Wessex Internet is seeking a Network Mapper to join the HSEQ team. The role focuses on site-based audits, GIS data, and ensuring quality and compliance across the fibre build.

You will work with project teams, landowners, and authorities to maintain accurate build records and drive improvements in field operations. The role suits someone comfortable on-site and with data systems, including GIS.

Qualifications

• Experience in civils/construction/utilities fibre deployment preferred.
• Strong IT and data skills; comfortable with new GIS systems.
• Excellent attention to detail to identify inaccuracies and compliance issues.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; proactive problem solving.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors; full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site audits and quality compliance checks across the fibre build.
• Maintain and update GIS mapping and build data reflecting field work.
• Own the defect management process from identification to resolution.
• Monitor build team compliance and report risks to project managers.
• Produce toolbox talks and compliance guidance for build teams.
• Liaise with landowners, authorities and operational teams; support Build Assurance.
