Job description

We Are Hiring!

Circet's Home Division requires a Fibre Coach to join the team. You will join our high performing operations team and report to the Area Operating Officer.


This role will cover Colchester and the surrounding areas (Essex).

Job Purpose:

Primarily undertaking the Principal Engineer role, the Coach will also support the Area Operations Officer (AOO) in coaching and developing their team. The Coach will offer technical advice onsite and ensure organizational targets are met.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coach the team to correct behaviors impacting performance; review issues with engineers, record actions, and liaise with AOO/Managers for PIP if non-compliance persists.
  2. Investigate complaints, establish facts, and conduct coaching if necessary.
  3. Carry out Assurance VIP visits or special requests from SMC.
  4. Support AOO with line management duties, including holiday/sickness cover, absence interviews, and documentation.
  5. Assist with audits and provide relevant feedback.
  6. Ensure all communications and briefings are understood by engineers.
  7. Support overall operational efficiency by taking on additional jobs as needed.
  8. Collaborate with training and Operations Managers to deliver training and upskill teams.
  9. Support onboarding for new team members.
  10. Conduct audits such as Health & Safety, Van, Stock, and Tools.
  11. Assist Stores Department with leavers audits and stock management.
  12. Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
Requirements:
  • GCSE grade or Scottish equivalent.
  • Ability to coach employees and communicate fluently with customers, possessing good customer service skills.
  • Minimum two years' experience in Telecoms/Utilities industry, preferably at a supervisor level.
  • Ability to interpret technical issues from non-technical descriptions.
  • Proficiency with work management systems and Windows (Excel/Word).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.
