Job summary

Gooch & Housego Torquay is recruiting for a role manufacturing precision photonics components for telecoms, defence and life sciences. Work is in a factory, with a 4-day pattern and a 39-hour week (Mon-Wed 14:00–00:00, Thu 14:00–23:00), with training on day shift initially.

You will assemble fibre optic products, perform fibre stripping, cleaving, polishing and laser testing, and ensure high-quality production to tight specifications.

Qualifications

• Able to follow work instructions and procedures precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Reliable team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assemble custom fibre optic products from drawings and procedures.
• Perform fibre stripping, cleaving, polishing and laser testing.
• Process a wide range of fibre optic components to high quality.
• Pack parts for shipments following written procedures.
