FI & Directors' and Officers' Claims Team Leader

Red Recruitment is seeking a FI & Directors' and Officers' Claims Team Leader to join their client's Commercial Claims Team.

As the FI Claims Handling Team Lead, you will oversee a team of claims handlers, ensuring efficient, fair case management with high standards of customer service. You will provide guidance, support, and development to your team, acting as a point of escalation for complex claims.

This role offers flexible working from home with travel to the Taunton, Bristol, or London office as needed.

Applicants should have experience in FI claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, motivating, and supporting claims handlers to meet performance targets and service levels
  • Monitoring workflow and resource allocation for timely claims processing
  • Managing service suppliers, including legal counsel, panel firms, and adjusters, and controlling expenditure
  • Supporting underwriters with claims-related advice, trend updates, and participation in review meetings
  • Ensuring compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements in claims handling
  • Handling escalated or complex claims with a focus on resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Mentoring, training, and developing Claims Handlers, Assistants, and Technicians
  • Contributing to process and system improvements, promoting best practices, and reducing non-value-added tasks

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven claims handling experience, with leadership or supervisory background preferred
  • Strong knowledge of claims processes, legislation, and regulations
  • In-depth understanding of FI claims essential
  • Technical expertise and analytical skills
  • Coverage knowledge with the ability to challenge lawyers and make determinations
  • Leadership by example and ability to inspire
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ECF
