Job summary

Staffline in Truro is seeking a Fettler to join our team. You will use hand tools and machinery to grind, deburr, remove weld spatter and finish metal components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include fettling, sanding, handling power tools, and ensuring quality checks. The role requires adherence to safety and a 4-day working week with Fridays off.

• Operating hand, air, and power tools to remove sharp edges and finish parts
• Part marking, reworking parts, and supporting quality control checks
• Collection/movement of parts within the factory
• Meet the expected standards of accuracy, efficiency and quality
• Inspect completed work for defects and make necessary repairs
• Maintain tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety regulations
• Operate all associated machinery and tools to move components

Position: Fettler

Location: Truro

Type of position: permanent

Salary: £27101 per annum

Working hours: Monday - Thursday, 06.30 - 16.45

We are seeking a Fettler to join our team based near Truro. You will be required to use hand tools and machinery to grind, de-burr, remove weld spatter and finish metal components to specified tolerances.

Responsibilities:

• Fettling, sanding, and de-burring metal components to engineering drawings
• Operating hand, air, and power tools to remove sharp edges and finish parts
• Part marking, reworking parts, and supporting quality control checks
• Collection/movement of parts from different locations within the factory.
• Meet the expected standards of accuracy, efficiency and quality as set by the Company
• Inspect completed work for defects and make necessary repairs as required
• Maintain tools and equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Operation of all associated machinery and tools to move components

Requirements:

• The appropriate candidate must have previous experience of fettling, sanding, and de-burring metal components
• Ability to use tools and work 4 day week
