Fetal Monitoring & Patient Safety for Intrapartum Care Lead Midwife
This is an great opportunity for an experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic NMC registered midwife to join our team in this specialist role. At an exciting time when we are continuing to expand and develop our staffing and services, we are seeking a midwife who has significant experience and understanding of fetal monitoring and intrapartum care to fulfil this role.
It is vital you can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of intrapartum care and fetal monitoring, with the ability to collect, analyse and present data, support staff, and lead education and training programmes. For this role you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible approach and commitment to work.
Our most recent CQC inspection recognised our maternity unit to have an open culture and staff were proud to work for our service, felt respected, supported and valued. Improvement is required and as we strive for excellence and continuous development, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced midwife to support in this journey.
The post holder is responsible for improving patient safety by promoting safe practice and robust patient safety systems with a particular focus on intrapartum care and intrapartum fetal monitoring to include CTG and intelligent intermittent auscultation.
You will have a key leadership role and will provide specialist skills and knowledge to support the division's quality and safety agenda. In this role you will support the Lead Midwife for Intrapartum Care on Labour Ward and the Acorn Birth Centre and work collaboratively with the triage manager in establishing and maintaining BSOTS, to enhance and develop high standards of care through education, patient safety incident response framework, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
