Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive Consultant in Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics to join a friendly, supportive team. You will deliver expert fetal and high-risk obstetric care, contribute to the on-call rota, and lead developments in maternal medicine within a multidisciplinary environment.

Applicants should have GMC registration, MRCOG, and UK CCT/CESR in O&G, with SITMs in relevant areas.

Qualifications

GMC Registration is essential for practice in the UK.
MRCOG is required or equivalent.
UK CCT / CESR in Obstetrics & Gynaecology is expected.
SITMs in fetal care, pregnancy care, maternal medicine or prenatal diagnosis are required.
ATSM in fetal medicine or maternal medicine is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in high-risk obstetric care and lead fetal and maternal medicine management.
Develop a specialist interest within the job plan after interview discussion.
Be a passionate leader within high-risk obstetrics and coordinate care across UHD NHS Foundation Trust estate.
Support and develop the fetal medicine service.
Investigate and treat obstetric referrals per departmental and Trust guidelines.
Participate in timetabled obstetric sessions and maintain high standards of practice.
Oversee care of obstetrics patients admitted by any obstetricians/gynaecologists.
Contribute to resident on-call rota and non-resident weekend on-call rota.
Coordinate annual and study leave with department colleagues to ensure consultant cover.
