Job summary

TFP Wessex Fertility invites applications for an experienced Sonographer or fertility nurse with sonography background to join our clinical team in Southampton. You will undertake ultrasound scans for follicular tracking, AFC, and pregnancy scans as part of IVF and related treatments.

The role is 7.5 hours per day, four days a week, on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). You will join a leading fertility clinic with modern facilities and a strong patient-focused care culture.

Qualifications

• 1st level registration with NMC.
• USS trainer with BFS or equivalent recognised organisation.
• Interest in women's health.
• Computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent communication to support patients and families in highly stressful situations.
• Keep accurate records for each patient of all communication and clinical activity relevant to treatment, in line with NMC regulations.
• Assist with data collation of procedures and transfer to records for HFEA regulations.
• Provide ultrasound services to the highest quality.
• Perform ultrasound examinations and compile concise reports.
• Work with team to ensure smooth ultrasound service.
• Explain sonography procedures to patients and reassure them.
• Independently perform diagnostic monitoring scans during IVF treatment and early pregnancy.
• Follow protocols and manage changes promptly and effectively within legal frameworks.
• Maintain COSHH, Infection Control, Risk Management and health & safety.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and patient confidentiality.
