Base pay range

Fertility Nurse Opportunity – Private Clinic in BorehamWood

Salary: Up to £40,000 (Depending on Experience)

Location: BorehamWood (Must be a Driver, Free Parking Available)

Our client, an established and reputable private clinic, is seeking a passionate Fertility Nurse to join their dedicated team. The clinic offers a comprehensive range of fertility treatments, including genetic screening and donor gametes/eggs. With a strong focus on providing personalised care tailored to each patient's needs, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in patients' fertility journeys.

About the Clinic:

High-end, fully self-contained facility with beautiful consultation rooms, spacious ultrasound scan rooms, and state-of-the-art laboratory and theatre.
A supportive and friendly team where strong relationships are developed with both patients and colleagues.
Led by a Clinical Director with vast experience in fertility and embryology.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical and emotional support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Explain treatment processes, gain patient consent, and schedule treatment plans.
Be the primary point of contact for clinical queries, maintaining regular communication with patients.
Support the management team in achieving departmental goals.

General Duties:

Conduct patient consultations and answer clinical queries.
Consent patients at the appropriate stages of the treatment process.
Educate patients on how to administer injections and medications.
Prepare and dispense prescriptions, and manage patient blood tests and results.
Assist in pre-operative assessments and surgical procedures (egg collection, embryo transfers, etc.).
Ensure clinical audits are carried out regularly, meeting required standards.
Collaborate on infection control and risk assessments.
Maintain clinical equipment and supplies in line with clinic protocols.
Uphold high professional and regulatory standards at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), ideally in Nursing or Midwifery.
Experience: At least 1 year as a UK-registered Nurse, ideally with fertility experience, or a Nurse in the process of registration.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex treatments, phlebotomy, cannulation, life support, and the ability to work under pressure.
Additional: Ability to perform ultrasound scans (preferred), and experience with audits, risk assessments, and protocol writing.
