Overview

ADM, Southport, NC

The Fermentation Operator III works under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent. Responsibilities include performing various duties in an industrial environment, such as:

  • Adding or mixing chemicals and ingredients for processing using hand tools or devices.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment safely and orderly.
  • Collecting samples for laboratory testing and interpreting data to make necessary adjustments.
  • Pouring materials into machinery, inspecting materials visually for standards conformance, and monitoring equipment for safe operation.
  • Operating chemical processing equipment, pumps, valves, agitators, and pressure vessels safely and efficiently.
  • Reading work orders, SOPs, and guidelines to determine production specifications.
  • Calculating chemical amounts for tanks and transferring materials as needed.
  • Following all safety regulations, GMPs, and QA standards.

Additional Responsibilities

Work abroad and perform duties such as:

  • Reading, writing, and scheduling.
  • Using computers, keyboarding, and mouse.
  • Working a 12-hour rotating shift.
  • Driving a forklift and working at high heights.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Possessing industrial environment experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
